For this project, we asked some Basque and Turkish teenagers some question about different topics. These topics were: Religion, Music, School and Food.
According to religion, most of the Basque people asked said that they were no religious, they did not believe in God and they did not go to worship places. On the contrary, Turkish people are religious, they go to worship place every week, and their religion is Islam.
So we can say that Turkish youngs are more religious than Basque people.
In respect of music, both groups of youngs are fond of it and they spend 2-3 hours listening to it. The Turks and the Basques like pop music but, apart from that, the Turks are fond of hip-hop and Basque people prefer Ska and Reggae.
Concerning to School, both groups are quite similar too. All of the students, Turkish or Basque, spend more or less, the same time at school, they have the same number of subjects and they practice extraschool tasks, being sport and music their favourite ones.
Basque teengers like maths and P.E, being Biology and Spanish what they like less. The Turks like Maths but they dislike Geography.
And finally, with regards to Food, each country has its own food culture and they are quite different. The Basques’ most famous food are Black Beans and Spanish omelette, while the Turks’ most famous food is the well-known Kebap.
According to food preferences, both groups like pasta and meat, but the Basques add legumes and vegetables to their list.
To sum up , we can say that, although at first sight, The Basques and they Turks are totally different, we are quite similar in themes like music or school. On the other hand, in topics likes Religion and food, we are different.
